Peter J. Mongeau is the founder and publisher of Tuscany Press and Christus Publishing. Christus specializes in Catholic non-fiction books, including Catholic Spirituality and the new evangelization espoused by Popes John Paul II and Benedict XVI. Tuscany Press was established this year (2012) when Peter realized that writers of Catholic fiction had no publisher devoted to their interests. His response was to create Tuscany Press to discover and make known worthy works of Catholic fiction. Tuscany is actively soliciting manuscripts that are “infused with the presence of God – subtly, symbolically, or deliberately.”
To further demonstrate his commitment to seeking out new Catholic fiction, Peter formed a Committee to support the Tuscany Prize for Catholic Fiction. This new literary prize to be awarded annually will encourage and reward writers of Catholic fiction, publish their works, and allow readers to discover these great stories.
The Tuscany Prize offers nine awards in the three categories: Novels, Novellas and Short Stories. Each prize includes a contract to publish the winning work. Details about how authors can enter their previously unpublished works of fiction are found on the Tuscany Press website.
Both publishing houses have Facebook pages and Twitter accounts that will shortly be engaged in publicizing the activities of these ventures. Interested authors can reach Peter Mongeau at publisher@christuspublishing.com or publisher@tuscanypress.com.
